Apple Opens the Tiger Darwin Kernel

[Apple ID needed to download Open Source]
Apple has released the Tiger Darwin Kernel today.

Also open today is Mac OS Forge, a resource to working with source code to "popular Apple-original projects".

"Mac OS Forge is dedicated to supporting the developer community surrounding open source components specific to Mac OS X. Here you will find resources for working with the source code to popular Apple-original projects, as well as third party projects that are closely related to the Macintosh operating system."

Currently available projects include:
Bonjour
Collaboration
Kernel (xnu)
Launchd
WebKit

All this after rumors that Apple wouldn't release Tiger Darwin code as well as the closing of OpenDarwin.org.

This is great news!
