iMac for Education No Longer Available to Individuals

As strange as it seems, Apple has decided NOT to sell the Education iMac to individual qualified purchasers instead opting to sell directly to schools.

From Macintouch:
Apple made a switch in its iMac for Education program, such that individuals can no longer buy the lower-priced model:

[Joe Chellman] My mom is a teacher, and her pink iMac just started crapping out after many years of service. I looked at the Apple store last night, saw the new 17" education iMac for $899, and thought it would be a good option.
Today I went back, and it was gone. According to the guy I spoke with on the phone at Apple, they have decided only to sell it to schools, not to individual educators. It's a shame, and I thought I'd pass the info along.
